Everyone has a dream. For Johnny, Meena and the others, their dream is to sing. Buster Moon's dream is to run a successful theater like he remembers from when he was young. That's when he has an idea to do a singing competition that, of course, goes wrong.

Buster Moon's father took him to the theater when he was six and it was love at first sight. His father worked hard to buy him a theater but now the theater isn't making money. That's when Buster comes up with a plan. He would hold a city-wide singing competition and give the winner $1.000. His bumbling secretary accidentally changes it to $100,000 and people all over town show up to audition.

Johnny, played by Kingsman: The Secret Service breakout star Taron Ergeton, wants to sing but his dad is forcing him into a life of crime. Rosita, Reese Witherspoon, is a mother of 25 and feel unappreciated. Ash, Scarlet Johansson, wants to prove to her boyfriend that she is great on her own. Meena, played by singer Tori Kelly, is so afraid of singing in public that she can't live her dream. And Mike, Seth McFarlane, is just in it for the money. They all have the dream and drive and Buster is giving them the chance.

Sing is one of those animated movies that is fun for the whole family but a lot of the references are geared more for the older audience. The message is one that most movies share, never give up on your dreams and work hard, but this movie shares it in an exciting way.

The animation is beautiful and with the star-studded cast singing hits that people know and love, Sing was guaranteed to be a hit. Tori Kelly's version of Hallelujah was so moving but the best part is Rosita and Gunter, played by Nick Kroll, singing and dancing to Taylor Swift's Shake It Off. McFarlane, of course, breaks out his killer version of My Way.

If you are looking for a fun, family friendly movie then Sing is a great choice. The songs are fun, the action is fantastic and it is funny as well. Kids of all ages, and the adults as well, will love it. The songs will get stuck in your head and your kids will want the soundtrack. Oh and it may spark your desire to be a singer too.
