Picking up where the first movie left off, A Quiet Place Part II sees Evelyn and her kids trying to find a safe place now that the farmhouse has been compromised.
Luckily, they have found a way to stun the creatures making it ever so slightly easier to kill them.
Part II also shows the day the aliens came to Earth but the scene quickly goes back to the present with the family finding a family friend and trying to find safety with a new baby.
One of the things that made A Quiet Place good was not seeing the monsters too much. We saw them toward the end but not enough to notice too much about them. This movie, however, shows the creatures too much. They look too similar to another creature in a popular Netflix show so it's hard to be too scared of them.
This movie features the creatures heavily and while it's understandable, it's just not necessary. Sometimes what you don't see is scarier than what you do.
Writer and Director John Krasinski managed to create a pretty suspenseful mood and a pretty solid story. Hopefully, if Krasinski makes another one, it will focus on a different family or a different part of the world so we can see what this event was like for other people.
