Young Cole has got a crush on his babysitter. But why does a 12 year old need a babysitter anyway? When Cole's neighbor dares him to stay up to see what she does after he does to bed, Cole finds out his beloved babysitter isn't who he thinks she is. She's in a satanic cult.

The Babysitter takes the horror comedy genre and makes it into something new. There are times when you are laughing so hard but then a fire poker goes straight through someone's head and you are shocked. It is violent, gory and beautiful.

At first glance this movie seems like just a dumb horror comedy like _ but it's so much more than that. The Babysitter is reminiscent of a classic 80's horror film just set in modern times. The cast is hilarious and the script is actually really good. the gore is pretty shocking at first. It really takes you by surprise but once it starts it doesn't let up.

The acting is really good and really brings the comedy. For being a Netflix original they got quite a few famous people for the cast. Cole's mother is played by Lislie Bibb and his father by Ken Marino. The cult members are Robbie Amell (his cousin is Stephen Amell from Arrow), Hana Mae Lee from Pitch Perfect and Bella Thorne of Disney Channel fame. The best cult member is played by Andrew Bachelor. Bachelor is not only funny but really brings the charactor of John to life. I wish he was in more of the movie.

The Babysitter was directed by McG. McG started out as a music video director for Sugar Ray, Korn and more but quickly made the move to movies and television. He may be best known as a producer on the hit CW show Supernatural. He has directed hits like We Are Marshall and Charlie's Angels.

If you are looking for a movie that isn't super scary, will give you a good laugh and is super gory then defiantly check out The Babysitter. It is now streaming on Netflix.
